Cutting Edge MDSD/MDA Toolkit

AndroMDA is one of the most powerful Open Source MDA Generators on the planet. It is used all over the world for everything from simple CRUD applications to complex enterprise applications. AndroMDA comes with an array of ready-made cartridges for common architectures like Spring, EJB, .NET, Hibernate, Struts and even more. The project wizard gets you started in no time. An Eclipse integration is in the works and will be finished soon. If you have a custom architecture, AndroMDA can also help you - by writing a so-called cartridge, you can customize AndroMDA to fit your needs.

AndroMDA 3.3 Final is released and available for download!
Latest News
Monday, 21 April 2008
The AndroMDA committers team is proud to announce release 3.3 of the Model Driven Architecture framework AndroMDA. This release primarily contains bug fixes and smaller enhancements such as:
  • Better support for latest versions of Maven (tested with Maven 2.0.8)
  • Ability to read *.emx files from RSA directly without the need to convert them to *.uml2. AndroMDA also checks for the IBM-specific metamodels for graphical elements in UML diagrams. If it finds them on the classpath, it registers them with the EMF package factory registry.
You can download the new version using Maven 2 or directly from SF.net. Have fun and enhance your productivity with AndroMDA!

AndroMDA 4.0-M1-SNAPSHOT for preview
Latest News
Friday, 11 May 2007
This is an exciting moment in the history of AndroMDA: AndroMDA 4.0, the latest version, is available for public preview.

As a user, you can now create and use your own EMF-based metamodels and write model-to-model transformations to transform from a PIM (at the highest level of abstraction) down through a stack of intermediate PSMs (using easily understandable transformation steps) until you finally reach the lowest level PSM from which it is easy to generate code using simple model-to-text transformations. This concept makes it easy to design and maintain transformations as they grow over time.

AndroMDA 4.0 uses innovative technology for transformations: ATL, the Atlas transformation language for model-to-model transformations (very similar to QVT) and MOFScript for model-to-text transformations.

Please check the current status of AndroMDA 4.0 in our user forum at http://forum.andromda.org/viewforum.php?f=36

Feedback is welcome in the forum!

Cheers,
Matthias Bohlen

Team AndroMDA welcomes Cyril Combe and Thorsten Pohl
Latest News
Thursday, 12 October 2006

We are pleased to announce the addition of Cyril Combe and Thorsten Pohl to the AndroMDA team.

Cyril, a PhD student in Machine Learning and Bioinformatics, lives in Paris, France. He is developing a simulation platform dedicated to metabolic networks using AndroMDA. Cyril has contributed to various parts of AndroMDA. "I would not start a new project without AndroMDA", he states and adds that he finds it very convenient in order to focus on the conceptual side while ensuring good practice in coding.

Thorsten, from Hamburg, Germany, has just finished his diploma thesis on the topic of conflict detection in model-to-model transformations in the context of the upcoming AndroMDA 4. He will join the team to drive development of AndroMDA 4. Particularly, he will concentrate on integrating ATL (Atlas Transformation Language) and developing model-to-model transformations for the Spring and Hibernate cartridges.

The team is now 15 strong and spans the entire globe.

Team AndroMDA welcomes Chris Micali and Cédric Jeanneret

We are pleased to announce the addition of Chris Micali and Cédric Jeanneret to the AndroMDA team. Both are long term AndroMDA users and have substantially contributed to the AndroMDA code base in the past.

Cédric, a student in computer sciences in Switzerland is working on UML 2 support for AndroMDA. Besides, he is looking into integrating AndroMDA with Rational Software Modeler.

Chris, based in Boston, USA, is the author of the Visual Studio .NET add-in for AndroMDA. Together with Naresh, he is working on the .NET side of life and is striving to improve AndroMDA support for this platform: "I think we have just scratched the surface of what we can do on the .NET story, from platform to adoption, and I have lots of ideas on how we can move forward."

The team is now 13 strong and spans the entire globe.

New poll: Have you ever written your own cartrige?
Latest News
Sunday, 09 July 2006

We would like to find out how you use AndroMDA and will be running a few polls during the next few weeks. The polls appear on the left hand side of this website, just below the menus.

After having asked you "Which cartridge do you use the most" (most people seem to use the Hibernate and Spring cartridges), we want to know "Have you ever written your own cartridge?".

Please take some time to voice your opinion: by participating, you help us to improve AndroMDA by aligning it to the needs of our users (that's you)!
